Mrs. Eugene McDermott discusses the origins of her interest in art, and describes the genesis of her involvement with The Museum of Modern Art's International Council beginning in the early 1960s. Included in her reminiscences are anecdotes regarding various International Council trips, exhibitions, general history, and leadership.

Monroe Wheeler was born on February 13, 1899 in Evanston, Illinois. Following an early career as a publicity writer, he established Harrison of Paris, a fine press, which was in operation from 1930-1935.
